From Pain to Purpose:
My journey
I am Katrina Harvin, the Founder of Her Story, The Gathering Inc., a movement birthed from pain, resilience, and the unwavering belief that no woman should walk through her story alone.
My journey into advocacy began long before I understood the meaning of healing. As a child, I endured years of silent abuse carrying wounds that were too heavy to speak of and too painful to explain. Fear, shame, and confusion kept me quiet, even when my heart longed to be free.
For years, I carried those untold chapters, until the day I found the strength to write them.
In August 2025, I became a published author, releasing my book Interrupted Prayers, a raw and honest testimony of survival, trauma, and rediscovering my voice. After sharing my truth, something unexpected, happened women began reaching out, telling me that my story mirrored their own. They, too, had suffered in silence. They, too, felt unseen, unheard, and misunderstood. Many had never found the words. Others never had support. Some were believed… but never truly helped.
Their stories shook me. Their courage moved me.
And their pain echoed everything I had once felt.
From those conversations, Her Story: The Gathering Inc. was born—not as an organization, but as a safe place. A community where women can gather, heal, breathe, and be reminded that their story is not a weakness… it is strength. It is survival. It is evidence that they are still here, still rising, still capable of becoming whole again.
My journey is still unfolding, but today I stand not only as a survivor, a mother, and a leader but as a vessel committed to helping other women reclaim what trauma tried to steal. Through storytelling, connection, compassion, and community, "I am building what I once needed: a place where healing feels possible."
Every story matters. Every woman matters.
And through Her Story, The Gathering, we will rise—together.
