From Pain to Purpose:
Katrina's journey
I am Katrina Harvin, the Founder of Her Story, The Gathering Inc., a movement birthed from pain, resilience, and the unwavering belief that no woman should walk through her story alone. My journey into advocacy began long before I understood the meaning of healing. As a child, I endured years of silent abuse carrying wounds that were too heavy to speak of and too painful to explain. Fear, shame, and confusion kept me quiet, even when my heart longed to be free.
For years, I carried those untold chapters, until the day I found the strength to write them.
In August 2025, I became a published author, releasing my book Interrupted Prayers, a raw and honest testimony of survival, trauma, and rediscovering my voice. After sharing my truth, something unexpected, happened women began reaching out, telling me that my story mirrored their own. They, too, had suffered in silence. They, too, felt unseen, unheard, and misunderstood. Many had never found the words. Others never had support. Some were believed… but never truly helped.
Their stories shook me. Their courage moved me.
And their pain echoed everything I had once felt.
From those conversations, Her Story: The Gathering Inc. was born—not as an organization, but as a safe place. A community where women can gather, heal, breathe, and be reminded that their story is not a weakness… it is strength. It is survival. It is evidence that they are still here, still rising, still capable of becoming whole again.
My journey is still unfolding, but today I stand not only as a survivor, a mother, and a leader but as a vessel committed to helping other women reclaim what trauma tried to steal. Through storytelling, connection, compassion, and community, "I am building what I once needed: a place where healing feels possible."
Every story matters. Every woman matters.
And through Her Story, The Gathering, we will rise—together.
Katrina's Story: Interrupted Prayers
Interrupted Prayers is my deeply personal testimony—an honest, unfiltered journey through childhood trauma, silenced pain, and the long road toward healing and freedom. Written to give voice to what I once could not say, this book reveals the moments of fear, the breaking points, and the quiet prayers that were interrupted by abuse, confusion, and survival.
But it is also a story of rising.
Through each chapter, readers will walk with me as I discover strength, reclaim my identity, and learn that healing is not only possible—it is powerful. Interrupted Prayers is more than a book; it is a reminder that no matter how shattered your story feels, your voice still matters, and your healing still belongs to you.
Interrupted Prayers
"This is not just a story—it’s a testimony of survival, strength, and sacred truth.”
In Interrupted Prayers, a woman finds the strength to speak the unspeakable, exposing the long-hidden truth of childhood abuse she and her sisters endured—betrayed not just by a man, but by someone cloaked in the trust of spiritual authority.
Raised in a devoted Christian home by a resilient, faith-filled mother, these young girls learned to pray through pain, to smile through sorrow, and to survive in silence. But silence doesn't heal. And prayers, when buried under trauma, sometimes feel… interrupted.
Told with raw vulnerability and unwavering faith, this memoir follows a journey from darkness to deliverance. Through confronting the past, leaning on sisterhood, and facing their mother with the truth, the women at the heart of this story discover that healing begins where secrecy ends.
Interrupted Prayers is a powerful and redemptive story—a voice for the voiceless and a reminder that freedom begins the moment we decide to speak.
